FERRIS WATERPOWER 200
The Ferris Waterpower 200 is one of the most powerful, reliable power products on the market. On a blue water passage it can supply the entire electrical needs of a well-equipped cruising sailboat! The Ferris WP-200 operates silently and efficiently, converting boat motion through the water into electricity, easily producing up to 200 Amp-hours per day on a passage.

This unit easily converts to a FERRIS WINDPOWER wind generator for extended stays in port. The Waterpower 200 water generators are pre-wired and ready to install. The Wind/Water Generator Monitor (shown below) is part of the Waterpower 200 system. It contains an ammeter that displays charging output current from the generator while underway.

FERRIS Water Power 200
The Ferris WP-200 Water Generators are surprisingly simple to install and operate. The Water generator is typically mounted on the stern of a sailboat in a gimballed frame. A spinner, trailing on a torque line behind the boat, provides the rotary motion needed to create electricity. The spinner and torque line are stowed on deck until needed. To begin charging, set the torque line into the water and as it trails and forms a loop, simply drop the spinner over the side, clear of the loop. You stop the spinner by sending the special retrieval funnel down the torque line. This prevents the spinner from rotating so it can be easily brought aboard. Generator size is 7” long by 4” diameter.

Torque Line, Spinners & Weight
It is recommended to carry a spare Torque Line and Spinner on an ocean passage. Our spinners are designed with today’s faster boats in mind. They rotate slower to help keep the spinner submerged at up to 7 knots. Brass Weights help keep the spinner submerged at higher boat speeds. It’s best to select the spinner/weight combination most likely to suit your situation, and test it in a variety of conditions before making a passage.

WP-200 Brush & Bearing Spares Kit
For extended cruising & routine maintenance. The brushes & bearings are the normal wearing parts of a Water Generator. This kit includes parts and instructions for easy replacement - No special tools required.
